Good Good News…

I had some good good news today!!  I really can’t see how the day can go wrong, but I will *knock* on wood that it doesn’t go downhill.

First of all, Laura came home from school and she had her normal math homework.   No biggie there.  But when I was looking through her papers I found an Attention paper!  It said that Laura had no spelling homework this week since she got a 100 on the test!  (Well, I don’t totally understand about that… I mean, it was a 100 for LAST week.  So they miss a week and the words get harder… but whatever.)  Anyways, I’m so glad to see that improvement on her test… she hasn’t gotten a 100 on a test in a long time.  She spent a lot of time this last week writing those words on a dry erase board.  It looks like it helped!

Then I logged into school for my grades and to check on progress with the group project!  My grades were up… (FINALLY!)…  I got a 65/75 (B) on my discussion board and my replies.  I got a 100/100 (A) on my individual project.  YAY!  My group project is doing good… I’ve gotta start doing my research tonight after the kids go to bed.

Today I went to the PA (Public Aid) office.  I wanted to update about my quitting my job, my last name change, and also my full time student status.  Well, they didn’t say much about me quitting my job, probably because I told them that I was looking for a part time job currently since I was a full time student.  Why did you get divorced (well, that’s none of your business.. you got the papers YOU needed out of it, which included my last name change and court ordered child support)?  Also, then they started on how can I be a full time student.  I told them I take 2 classes every 5 weeks (well, that’s not full time).  Well, it is full time when you concider that a normal semster I’m taking 6-8 classes.  I told them I would print off my letter that says I’m a full time student, plus I had it include my GPA (4.0), AND my class schedule.  I took it back up there and dropped it off at their office.  Hopefully it shuts them up!

I did happen to have one thing that didn’t make me very happy…  This morning we left the house by 5 after 8 to start our daily drop off.  Laura gets dropped off first, Caleb and Matthew next, then Steve at work.  Then I come back home or I take care of errands that need to be ran.  Anyways, so Steve’s boss calls this morning as we are heading to Laura’s school.  He wants to know if Steve’s going to come into work early.  Steve says he’ll be there in about 10-15 minutes that he has to drop off the kids first.  See, Steve’s suppose to be there by 9 AM but I was dropping him off at 8:30 anyways.  His boss said something to the effect that "Why does he have to drop off the kids, they aren’t his kids.  I can send (insert name) to pick you up now."  Well, that’s rubbed me the wrong way all day long.  I mean, no they aren’t his kids… but he isn’t suppose to be at work anyways yet so what right does he have to say anything about itemoticon.  Whatever.  It’s that attitude that makes me dislike him so much sometimes.  URG!

Yesterday was my day of rest.  With that said, I had a lot of work to catch up on today.  But even at that it took me about an hour to finish my house… well, except the laundry.  I will have a butt load of laundry to do.

Did I mention the kids are off school right now…  they get Palaski day off.  Oh yay!  I really can’t get past how many days off these kids get.  Seems like everytime I turn around they are off again…  It used to just be snow days and occassionally on really really hot days we would get a day off since we didn’t have AC installed in the school yet.  But now they get COLD DAYS.  I mean, all schools should have a freakin heater!  But whatever.  Tomorrow they go back to school, and I get to enjoy my morning kid free doing homework!

Friday at Caleb’s school I was asked to think of a day in the middle of May for his graduation.  As far as I know it’s only him and one other boy who graduate this year!  Next year it’s off to kindergarten for him.  He’s really excited!!  I can’t wait either.

I had Steve cut my hair tonight!  It turned out cute.  I think we cut off about 3 inches, leaving it just below my shoulders.  So, since I had a hair cut… what better theme for my 365!!  It’s on my flickr account.  I have to watch how many photos I upload until probably next week, then hopefully I can swing for my pro account again!  (Or I could have some loving friends sponser me!)

I still don’t have my grades yet… I have to have them by tomorrow at midnight.  So hopefully they will be up before then.  I’m very eager to figure out how well I did this time, with me working so hard on them and all!  Plus even my classmates gave me GREAT feedback.  We’ve already started working on our group project.  Hopefully it comes along good.  It seems to be so far!
